Senior Revenue Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

A leading E&P company in West Houston seeks a senior revenue accountant to join its team full-time. This role focuses on revenue and regulatory accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with industry regulations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. • Reports to: Accounting Manager, GOM (Gulf of Mexico)
• Size of team: 9
• Compensation: $95k – $105k (will negotiate based on experience level), 25% STI, LTI Stock option buy-in
• Benefits: 100% paid medical/vision/dental, 8% match on 401(k)

• Schedule/Accommodation: Hybrid – 3 days on-site, Wednesday and Friday WFH

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Revenue Accounting: Manage revenue accruals, actualizations, invoicing, variance analysis, and receivables.
• Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and file production and royalty reports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Data Management: Maintain revenue-related system master data, including ownership records and division of interests.
• Financial Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in revenue-related transactions.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and land teams to align revenue reporting with business operations.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal, external, and regulatory audits, ensuring compliance with SOX controls.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in revenue accounting procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
• 3+ years of accounting experience (preferably in public accounting and/or the oil & gas industry)
• CPA preferred but not required
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (OGSYS experience a plus)
• Solid understanding of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and revenue accounting principles
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
