JOB SUMMARY:
Our client, a Digital Marketing Agency, is seeking a talented Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting functions, including a team of 4 direct reports. The Accounting Manager will be critical of ensuring the company’s books and records are complete and accurate, and the financial statements are prepared per US accounting standards. This is a fully remote work opportunity with limited travel obligations, requiring dedication and commitment to being self-driven and accountable. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure that all financial transactions are correctly recorded and supported and that all accounts are reconciled, complete, and accurate.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure that account changes are expected and reasonable.
- Provide oversight to the banking and treasury functions daily to ensure proper cash flow. Review all bank and cash account reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day finance operations and the month-end close process.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulations, and ensure the company complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Recommend and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance assessments and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
- Effectively communicate work product(s) with individuals at all levels of the organization (through email, phone, web conference, video conference, and in-person presentations). Answer any questions regarding the data, analytical methods, and assumptions used to build the work product.
- Develop and maintain detailed records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information.
- Provide support to the CFO regarding ad hoc data and reporting needs.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed.

MUST HAVES:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Master’s degree is highly desired
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the accounting field
- Minimum 3 years of leadership/management experience
- Experience working for a company with 50M or more in annual revenue
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable experience
- Previous experience working in NetSuite
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
