JOB SUMMARY:
A midsize manufacturing company in Benton, AR, is seeking a Controller with manufacturing and cost accounting experience to join their team full-time. In this role, the Controller will act as a proactive business partner and work closely with the President to manage all financial activities. The Controller will interact daily with the Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing teams and will work with all levels of employees to drive the company’s growth and initiatives. The Controller will have three direct reports. This role is a 100% onsite position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to the growing business
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial month-end close process
- Cash management, including supervision of AR/AP
- Compliance, sales & use tax
- Intercompany analysis
- Create and prepare financial analysis
- Product costing analysis
- Identifying and improving business efficiencies
- Track and communicate capital expenditure projects
- Excess and obsolete inventory review
- Leadership of three (3) associates in the department (AP/AR Clerks)
- Ad hoc reporting
- Special projects as assigned by the President or CFO
POSITION QUALIFIERS:
- Must be a self-motivated and highly independent worker
- Presentation skills for monthly financial presentations to leadership
- Must be highly computer literate in data mining and ERP systems
- Have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Requires deadline-driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as a key contributor on teams
- The individual will be expected to be familiar with concepts such as working capital and highlight to management their relationship to business performance and offer guidance and improvement areas
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Must have the willingness to accept and take ownership of new responsibilities in a fast-growing environment
- Must have the ability to multi-task with limited supervision
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA preferred
- Five years of accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company
- Prior controller or leadership experience
- ERP system, including implementation, experience a plus
- MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel – VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
