JOB SUMMARY:
A growing, publicly traded Construction company headquartered in Greater Houston is seeking a Lead Senior Accountant on a full-time. Under the direction of the US Financial Controller, the Lead Senior Accountant will perform professional accounting work, including, but not limited to, audit, project accounting, verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, providing information as requested regarding accounting practices and procedures, and reconciling general ledger accounts. This position will also assist in preparing the organization’s annual budgets, prepare year-end audit reports and schedules, train and provide technical advice to lower-level accounting personnel, and perform related work as required. Responsible for accounting activities such as maintaining the general ledger and preparing various accounting statements and financial reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Accountable for the accuracy and performance of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Accountable for ensuring our policies and procedures are in line with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
- Actively participate in internal and external audits
- Accountable for reconciliation of and assisting in the confirmation of general ledger accounts, internal allocations, manufacturing variances, and cost accounting transactions
- Responsible for timely month-end closings in line with monthly and quarterly closing schedules as prescribed by the controller and corporate accounting group
- Preparing journal entries and account analysis, tracing errors, researching and correcting account discrepancies, and maintaining various accounting reports
- Ensure that physical inventory counts take place
- Responsible for preparation of monthly P& L and balance sheet for assigned departments/locations
- Conduct variance analysis together with assigned department/location budget holders of actual results vs. budget and current period vs. prior periods
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- Oracle Cloud & SmartView Reporting experience strongly preferred

EDUCATION AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, and a Master’s is preferred
- A minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience
- Public company experience, specifically in audit
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills are required
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Financial analysis experience
- Experience with cost, inventory, and/or project accounting
