Revenue Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

Independent Oil & Gas Producing Company headquartered in The Woodlands, TX, is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join their Revenue team full-time. This position is onsite, with a 9/80 work schedule, and will report directly to the Revenue Accounting Supervisor.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Prepare revenue allocations
• Gather and analyze all volume and pricing data necessary to record revenue for gas, oil, and natural gas liquids
• Record revenue transactions for operated and non-operated properties mainly located in Texas
• Record related revenue expenses – marketing, gathering, transportation, and processing deductions
• Process revenue-related voids, monthly check write, and revenue cutbacks
• Confirm the annual revenues paid relating to the lease clause requirement for annual minimum royalties
• Prepare coding for revenue-related invoices
• Coordinate the setup of the division of interest decks with Land Department personnel
• Research and respond to owner inquiries
• Record and monitor prior period adjustments monthly
• Prepare revenue accruals. Accruals are a manual process and not system-generated.
• Prepare revenue-related balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
• Maintain organized files with supporting documentation of work performed for all functions

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Oil and Gas Revenue Accounting experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Revenue Accountant
• Bolo System experience is a plus
• Microsoft Excel proficiency required
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Self-starting, hardworking and results-oriented
