SUMMARY:
A PE-backed, midstream services provider in Downtown Houston seeks to hire a full-time Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant. In this role, the Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant will handle full cycle accounting, work with large volumes of data, and assist with preparing FERC reporting schedules. This highly analytical position will require strong attention to detail and superior communication skills. This position will require approximately 2-4 trips per year to Houma, LA, or Lake Charles, LA, for training and meetings. This position is newly created due to continued growth and will report directly to the VP Controller.
Salary: $100k – $120k, plus a discretionary bonus
PTO: 3 weeks, 10 paid holidays, 1 floating holiday
401(k): Match 100% up to 6% of annual base salary
Accommodations: 4 days onsite, Friday 1/2-day WFH
Parking: Costs covered by the employer
Additional: In this role, you will have your own office
Travel: All travel expenses for training and meetings will be covered by the company
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for financial reporting and variance analysis
- Working knowledge of full-cycle accounting, including consolidations
- Ability to work cross-functionally to understand financial results
- Month-end closing entries
- Assist with the preparation of FERC reporting schedules
- Assist in the year-end audit and tax requests
- Compile and prepare supporting schedules, work papers, and other financial reports as needed
DESIRED CAPABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
- Working knowledge of GAAP (FERC Accounting a plus)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (Advanced modeling a plus)
- Pipeline or utilities industry experience is desired, not required
- Microsoft Great Plains
- Highly effective communicator
- Self-starter with good judgment and logical decision-making
- Positive attitude and a desire for a collaborative working environment
- Have no objective to onsite work in Downtown
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in full-cycle accounting
- FERC accounting experience
- FP&A experience
- Pipeline or utilities industry experience will set you apart from other applicants
